Discover MAP Marrakech: the fascinating world of finery

In the heart of the Kasbah of Marrakech lies a little-known treasure, the MAP Marrakech (World of Fine Arts), a museum dedicated to the art and culture of finery, ornaments and jewelry throughout the ages and cultures. At Oasis Lodges, we are committed to helping you discover the hidden gems of our destination, and the MAP, which opened its doors at the end of 2022, adds to the cultural offering of Marrakech.

Nestled between the Saadian Tombs and the Baddi Palace, the MAP Marrakech is a true journey around the world, with an impressive collection of more than 3,000 pieces from over 50 different countries. Each object tells a story, testifying to the richness and diversity of cultures through the prism of finery.

The World of Fine Arts is much more than a simple museum. It is a unique place where craftsmanship and creativity meet to reveal an exceptional collection of finery, ornaments, jewelry and ceremonial clothing.

At the origin of this extraordinary collection, Marlène and Paolo Gallone, passionate collectors, traveled the globe in search of unique and exceptional pieces. In love with Marrakech for over 35 years, they decided to share their passion by opening this museum, after more than 7 years of work and determination.

Architecturally, the MAP Marrakech building is itself a work of art, designed by architects Michel Charrière and Joseph Achkar. Spread over three levels around an octagonal skylight, the museum offers an immersive and captivating experience to its visitors. At the top, a terrace designed by Marius Boulesteix offers a breathtaking view of the medina and the Atlas Mountains.

With entry fees accessible to all, the museum aims to democratize access to culture and promote intercultural exchange.

Don’t miss the opportunity to discover this cultural gem during your next stay in Marrakech. An immersion in the heart of the history and beauty of the world of finery awaits you at MAP Marrakech.
